Summer Tree

We adopted a tree in the front of our school. 

We will discover change over time as we watch our

adopted tree change through the year.

What letters are in your name?

We are doing a lot of name activities.  Today I gave them each a cup of letters and they sorted the letters by letters in their name and letters not in their name.

 Then we went to the Name Museum and they walked around and saw what letters their friends had in their names.

How many letters in your name?

We used cubes to see how many letters in our names.

We went from 3 letters to 8 letters.

Five Senses

This week in Science we talked about our Five Senses.

We used Gummie LifeSavers to Touch, Hear, See, Smell and Taste.

Yellow Day

Kindergarten has gotten the whole school excited

about our color days.

All the upper grades see us in the hall and comment. 

The PE teachers say they are going to start wearing our color. 

But most important our Kindergarteners are having fun learning.



 This week for the color yellow we learned how to use the camera on our ipads.  They went around the room and took pictures of yellow things.

Then we had a gallery walk at the Yellow Museum

and looked at all the yellow pictures.

 

First Trip to the Library

Tuesday is our Library Day.  They loved going to the library today and getting to check out a book.  It is kinda cool because they get to make their own choice.  So if your child came home with a Christmas Book, like my granddaughter did enjoy Christmas in September.
