Seeds, Seeds, Seeds

This week we started a plant unit.
We began by talking about seeds.

We dressed Samantha up like a seed.
We learned all the things she would
need to be a seed that can grow.
We gave her a raincoat and a hat to protect her,
water and a granola bar for food to help her grow.

We soaked lima beans and then took them
apart and discovered all their parts.

Finally we planted the lima beans in dirt.

We gave them water and then waited for them to grow.
To be continued.

We also explored different kinds of seeds and then played a game to determine what they would grow into, watermelon, pansies, carrots, squash etc.

Leprrechaun Fun

We had a very tricky Leprechaun come visit us this week.

He left us clues all around the school so we could try to catch him.
All the clues lead us back to the classroom where we found he had left us chocolate coins.

We worked on our graphing skills using Lucky Charms.
The students did a great job and had fun doing it.
