We are ready to go outside and play.

But we sure have fun at indoor recess.

 

Snowing in Texas

We had so much fun going out in the snow today.

We just had to go out and catch snowflakes.

Groundhog Day

Sunday, February 2 was Groundhog Day.

The students enjoyed learning about this fun tradition.

First we made a graph, voting if you thought Yes or No the groundhog would see his shadow.

 

 

 We made a groundhog treat.

They loved making pudding. 

Everyone took a turn.

 

Our little groundhog turned out funny looking

but it was still yummy!

Sight Words

We practiced our sight words this week using the ipads.

They love learning on the ipads.

 

Research

We did our first research project this week.

We were learning about community helpers.

Each group took a different community helper,

dentist, fireman, teacher, doctor and policeman.

 

First they read books about their community helper. Then they wrote important facts on a circle map. Then from the information they collected they created a pic-collage on the ipad.

 

 

We learned how to look on the web for pictures

and import them into our project.

It was very amazing.  They did a great job.

Making Friends

Mrs. Martinez our counselor came today and

did a lesson for us on being a good friend.
