Winter Tree

In our continued effort to learn about the seasons and change over time, we went outside and looked at our adopted Tree.
I had a good chuckle when I took this picture.
They are all taking pictures of the tree.
So cute.

GCISD News

We made the GCISD News.

Click here to see the News Article about our Skyping friends in Pennsylvania.

Classroom Divided

Joshua walked into the classroom this morning all smug wearing this Packer's Shirt. Unfortunately his efforts were lost on me because I am not a die hard football fan and did not realize.  However, we had several students in the class who immediately realized and they started giving him a hard time.  Then when I realized what they were talking about
I was able to get in on the fun.
I love that we have built such a fun classroom family that we can have fun with something like football.
Fun Day!

Matching Words to Pictures

Here the students are working on a Snowman book.
They match the pictures to the words.
Here they are print matching.
They are able to go up to posted pictures and match
the words to the pictures.

The reason you never see these emergent readers we make is because we keep them in our Browsing Box and read them quite often.

Circle Up

We start each morning with some Circle Up.
Some times we all talk on the same topic, like tell us something you are proud of.  Then other times we just talk.  You are only allowed to talk if you have the taking stick.
It allows the students a time to get their thoughts out there and to focus on their friends thoughts and build a classroom community.
