Addition to 10

We are working on Addition to 10.  They are using their ipad dice app to get their two numbers then they graph their answer.

 

Yummy Radishes!!!!

We were able to pick and taste some of the radishes today.

They were very excited. 

Our carrots and tomatoes are still growing strong.

Parts of an Insect

We are using marshmallows, dots, candy oranges,

pretzels to learn the parts of an insect.

Yummy!!!

Research

We are researching three different insects.  The students picked from Ladybug, butterfly or bumblebee.  They are using books and Pebble Go on their ipad to find facts about their insect.

We are now in the writing stage.  Final product will follow next weeks post.

Bookfair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the library this week.  Come and enjoy picking out a good book with your child.

 

 We went to the bookfair on Friday.

The students took pictures of the books they might like with their ipad.  The pictures were put in their google docs account.  You can go into their google account and see their choices.

Butterfly Release

We had so much fun watching the our butterflies grow.

We released them on Wednesday but I forgot to bring my camera out to the garden.

We still had our one little late bloomer who was still in its chrysalis.

That after noon it came out and the students got to enjoy.

 

 

Today we went and let our last butterfly go.

They had a great time with this.

Lunch outside together

Today students who paid tickets got to eat

lunch outside with me .

It was great fun.

Mr. Cole

Mr. Cole, Samantha's Dad spent the day with us

today as a Watch Dog.

I don't think teaching Kindergarten is in his future.  LOL>

Zoo Animal Research

We finished our Zoo Animal Research.

The kids are so proud of themselves.

 They shared their writing with each other.

It was so adorable to see them read their

writing to a friend.

Trading in Tickets



They are so proud of earning tickets.

They trade in tickets for treasure tickets, M&Ms, shoes off and lunch with teacher.

 

Garden Update

Our Garden is doing great.

The radishes are getting bigger.

The carrots are starting to sprout.

Today we covered the garden bed with a net so

that the rabbits does not help himself again this year.

 

 

There is always an App for that

We were right in the middle of a Math Lesson, adding two numbers when it dawned on me I bet there is a app for that.

 

 

Everyone was working hard, having

fun adding two numbers using dice.

 

When I realized I bet there is a dice app. 

We downloaded it and had way more fun learning.

 

The next morning the kids came in asking if  we could work on addition using the dice app.

Yes, they are hooked and I tricked them into learning.
