Giraffes

This week we research facts about giraffes.

Did you know that the giraffes tongue is as 

tall as a human adults arm?

We read the Book "Giraffes Can Dance" 

and we made our own dancing giraffe.

Today we had March Birthday Lunch with the Principal.

NEU Pep Rally

Today we had a NEU Pep Rally on Empathy.

Planting

Today we planted lima beans in a cup.

We are going to observe their growth in the classroom 

as they grow under a plant light.

Graphing

This week as part of our graphing unit we thought of our own question to graph, we surveyed our friends collecting data, made the graph and then finally put our graph into Draw and Tell and recored our thoughts as we analyzed the data.

Seed Inquiry

Today we dissected a lima bean.

We learned about what parts of the lima bean 

store food and where the plant will grow.

STAAR

Today our 4th and 5th Graders are taking the STAAR Test.

We had to be really quiet all day.

We went outside with chalk and ran around 

during our specials time.

Writing Workshop

Today we shared our Writing Workshop story with a friend.

These scholars are becoming quite the writers.
