U for Uplifting Day

ABC Countdown
Today was U Day in the ABC Countdown.
U = Uplifting

We taped a red heart on the back of each other.
Then we went around and wrote uplifting words on our friends hearts.
Happy, cute, sweet, fun, helpful, thoughtful and cool were some of the words written.

Euless Library Summer Program

The librarians from the Euless Library

We learned about the Euless Library
Summer Reading Program.

Celebrate Freedom

We celebrated Freedom Week.

We wrote our own class Preamble.

We the Kids in Mrs. Butts' Class. In order to learn and meet all our goals, we will follow all the rules and never give up.  We will be respectful to others.  We will have fun and make our parents proud.
All the students signed our class Preamble.

We of course all know how to say the Pledge to the Flag but we learned about the flag and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Field Day

Rain forced us to have an indoor Field Day.

First We went to the cafeteria and had Cup Stacking Relay.
 And Jump Rope Contest.
Then we went to the Library and did Obstacle Relay.

Then we went back to the classroom and played a bean bag toss game (I forgot to take pictures), danced to Tootie Ta and played musical chairs.  It was a blast.  They were hilarious playing musical chairs.

Then during our Specials time our parents came to watch us compete in egg relay and water balloon toss.

We ended the day with a Dance Party.

Over All I think it was a great Memory Building Day.

Juggling our Seats

We changed seats several times today
Juggling seats was so fun!!!

Garden Work

We love working in the garden.
Today we picked lots of Radishes and we even had our first tomato.  We did not mean to pick it.  It accidently came off the vine when we were working on the garden.

Yes we grew these all by our self.

Yum Yum!! These crazy kids love radishes.

Thank You Mrs. Kowalski

This Lady is so Special to Me.

Mrs. Kowalski is an old friend of mine.  I use the word old loosely but we worked together 15 years ago and have stayed friends.  She has since retired and enjoys coming to the schools.
Today she came to Bear Creek to talk to our Third Grade about Planting.  She is a member of the Grapevine Garden Club.  So while she was here she asked if she could come to my class.

She follows my blog so she knew it was "G" day.
She wore green, talked to the kids about being a member of the Garden Club, read Goldilocks and the Three Bears and brought them Gum.
This meant so much to me.  Thank you Joan.  You are the best.

Happy Mothers Day

We hope all of our mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day.
